Balian House in Altadena
Where: Allen Avenue and Mendocino
Balian House is actually located in Altadena at 1960 Mendocino Lane and can be combined with Christmas tree lane by turning right on Altadena to Allen. Turn right on Allen and then left on Mendocino. Like a community castle, the 1922 Mediterranean-style mansion owned by ice-cream magnate George Balian, at the fork of Mendocino Lane and Glenview Terrace, sits majestically aglow with thousands of lights, drawing busloads of visitors, pushcart vendors and strolling carolers.

 

Christmas Tree Lane
Where: Santa Rosa Avenue between Woodbury and Altadena Drive
Every Christmas season for more than 80 years, the majestic deodars on the "Mile of Christmas Trees" are strung with 10,000 lights. Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena is the oldest large-scale Christmas lighting spectacle in the United States.

Upper Hastings Ranch (U. H. R. A.) - Holiday Light Up
Where: Area surrounding Hastings Ranch Drive & Alegria Street
When: December 10th to January 1st. Calendar of events is here.
Miles of elaborately decorated streets and houses with different themes.

Saint Albans Road in San Marino
Where: Huntington Drive & St. Albans
The towering trees on the street all decked out with Christmas lights to resemble giant Christmas trees.

This is a Christmas wonderland. You must visit to see: The mini villages in the back room. The rows and rows of ornaments. The nativity scenes. The different themed decorated Christmas trees. Your family will enjoy visiting every year to get into the holiday spirit.

Every year Mike Ziemkowski puts together the most sophisticated display.  His website contains a video of each years display.  I highly recommend checking out his display if you can make the drive.  It will be worth it.
