What year was Cal Poly Universities first entry into the Rose Parade and what is unique about its float construction?  The first entry was in 1949.  The float construction is a joint venture between California Polytechnic State University and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where each builds portions of the float which are then combined.  See more here.

Will there be a flyover in the 2017 Rose Parade this year?  Yes.  The flyover will occur at the beginning of the parade.   The Thunderbirds will be flying over the Rose Parade at around 1000 ft. The flying unit, officially known as the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, will fly six aircrafts west to east from Colorado Blvd. and Orange Grove Blvd.

When did American Honda become the official vehicle of the Tournament of Roses?  In 1981, American Honda became the official vehicle of the Tournament of Roses, and began providing the Pace and Sound vehicles that lead the Rose Parade. Honda also began providing the motor scooters, vans and cars necessary to support Tournament of Roses planning, logistics, operations and transportation.  More here.
  15. What is the tallest float ever entered in the Tournament of Roses Parade?  In 2004, Disneyland's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror float, titled "A Sudden Drop in Pitch" was the tallest in Rose Parade history at nearly 100 feet high.  More here

What is the longest float ever entered in the Tournament of Roses Parade?  The 2014 Honda float 'Keeping Dreams on Track', measured 274 feet long, and contained five floats attached together.  The 2010 Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance float, featuring snowboarding bulldogs, measured over 113 feet (34 m) long, setting a Guinness world record for longest single chassis float.  Video of float.  More here.
