Pasadena Historical Society
Founded in 1924 as the Pasadena Historical Society, Pasadena Museum of History operates the only Museum and Research Library devoted solely to preserving and educating the public about the history of Pasadena and the west San Gabriel Valley. It is an independent nonprofit cultural institution funded by generous gifts from foundations, corporations, businesses, individuals, and our members. Membership includes an annual meeting and access to other historical museums.
The Pasadena History Home Page
A short history of Pasadena from 1886 to Present. The land now famous for the Tournament of Roses, the Rose Bowl, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and California Institute of Technology, was once occupied by the Hahamogna Tribe of Native Americans. In 1886 Pasadena incorporated, largely as a measure to rid the city of its saloon.
Old Pasadena History
Old Pasadena is nationally recognized for its vibrant main street revitalization. Old Pasadena offers memorable architecture and reflects the traditions of early California, blending in a cultivated collection of shopping, delectable dining and endless entertainment. In January 1875, the first schoolhouse was built near the intersection of California Street and Orange Grove Avenue.

San Gabriel Valley's First Settler's Cemetery
Savannah Memorial Park is a 4.5-acre piece of land at Valley Boulevard and Mission Drive contains may headstones where some of the original settlers were buried. The association has compiled a database of individuals buried on this historic site.
